Over sugar or sweetener, you should choose honey.
Because honey is a natural antibiotic, antifungus and anti-inflammatory, contains minerals, boosts memory and can be used to disinfect wounds and burns. Because refined sugar is addictive and linked to a series of malfunctioning and diseases, including impaired brain function. Because we are not sure about what effects sweeteners cause to our body after years of continuous use.
Beware, though, not no binge on it, not only because it is still a (more complex and healthy) type of sugar, but also because bees are almost extincted. And know that Mayo Clinic recommends giving honey only to kids over 12 months old, because of possible contamination of the product.
